***Expecting the Biggest Reunion Ever**
Based on the early registrations we are expecting that this year will be the biggest reunion we’ve ever had. We have registrants coming from as far away as Florida, Minnesota, and Washington State. Our excitement is growing daily! Partly because of this expectation we have moved the banquet to a new location – See below.
***Early Bird Deadline***
Just a reminder that the early bird deadline is March 19. This deadline helps us know how many people are coming so we can plan properly for catering and venue space. As noted above we are already anticipating a large turnout and need to be very accurate with our head counts so we can be good stewards and create the best possible environments for the Reunion. The price before the early bird deadline is $60 per person, after the Early bird it is $75 per person.
***New Banquet Venue – The Lubbock Club *** www.thelubbockclub.com
As we mentioned, thanks to the assistance of one of our Board Members (Zach Brady) we have been able to book the Lubbock Club for our Banquet. The venue sits at the top of the largest building in Lubbock and offers a 360 panoramic view of the city. It is truly a stunning location, and Zach’s assistance helped us get it for less than we would have paid elsewhere.
***Child Care and Child Friendly Lunch on Saturday***
Just a note about the Lunch on Saturday. We will have childcare for Friday Night Underground/Hardcore and for the Saturday night banquet. For the lunch on Saturday we are encouraging people to bring their whole family. It will be family friendly, with food and activities sure to please the kids!
***Special Discount Hotel Rate: Holiday Inn Park Plaza $79/Night***
Got to http://www.friendsofwesley.com/339/ for more information.
Looking for a roommate – head over to the Group Page Discussion Board!
***Registrations and memories continue to roll in***
In the last couple of weeks we have posted lots of pictures of Wesley Alum going all the way back to the 1950’s. People have been tagging each other like crazy and generally having a great time reconnecting. If you haven’t seen them yet, head over to the group photo tab. There are more than 1600 pictures at this point!
“The Wesley Foundation made a major impact in my life. When I started attending Wesley, I was at a crossroads in my spiritual walk. At Wesley I found real people with a real love of Christ. I learned what it meant to really be a Christian and share that message with those I come across.” Wren Wetzel Deavers (Stan Era)
“Wesley was the place that taught me how to be in community… My time there helped me discover God’s call upon my life for ministry. And it prepared me for ministry.” Scott Smith (Andy, Stan, Steve Era’s)
“ I remember the outings we had: the retreats, football game fellowships, etc. My most vivid memories I had were with people who loved and accepted me just for me. “ David Stewart (Steve and Stan Era’s)
“Laughing till my speen hurt. Understand the love of God and the mission of God are always in concert. Discovering, forging and creating friendships that have stood the test of time. When I have to go to my “happy place” often it’s to my ‘Wesley memories’ that I return.” Matt Russell (Stan and Steve Era’s)
“My time at Wesley was amazing in so many ways – God used everything from the amazing Godly leaders I worked with (Steve, Andy, Stan) to each staff member on our teams, to every student that participated – to draw me closer to Himself and to challenge me to trust Him in all things!” Amy Lerner Wasserbauer (Andy, Stan, Steve Era’s)

Rumors Confirmed

Registrations and memories continue to roll in
“Wesley was like a breath of fresh air–being a new Christian at a big university was made so much easier because of my friends at Wesley. We had so much fun!!”
Leigh (Park) Bayouth (Stan/Andy Era’s)
“I have a lot of great memories. … Steve Moore gave me many opportunities to write, speak in public, and opportunities to do ministry that played a big role in who I became. I also made a lot of great friends and loved my experiences going to activities, dances, mission trips, and playing for the Zoomba Warriors. I hope to see a lot of my old friends.”
Chet Marko (Steve Era)
“My time at Wesley impacted me in so many ways. Setting up a heart for mission and service, finding my gifts in leadership, learning to be real with others and sharing ups and downs, and loving God more and more each day! I learned so much from the people who shared that time and I’m amazed at all the places God has taken us and the different things that we are doing for Him.”
Jill (Griffin) Bernard (Stan Era)
“My time at the Wesley helped me to grow and establish a lifelong love of Christ. It was there I learned to really study the bible, reach out in love to others, pray meaningfully, refine my friendships and see the world and myself through God’s eyes. Though I had been a christian for years, I wasn’t really letting God have the lead until I was in a bible study with Amy Lerner. None of us were perfect, but it felt like all of us were striving. I look back at my time at the Wesley as the best, most influential time of my life.”
Karin (Mainz)-McCannon (Steve/Stan Era’s)

Registering before February 12 will get you a free copy of as many of these memories as we can stuff on a DVD. Look for some “Coming Attraction” previews soon.

“My most vivid memories of my time at Wesley were being a part of the drama ministry as a student, as of leading a group of 10 students to Moscow Russia as a campus ministry intern in 1996. What an experience!
My time at Wesley taught me that being a Christian wasn’t about being judgemental about other people, but was about loving and understanding folks where they are at. The Wesley Foundation introduced me to an informed and compassionate Christianity that I didn’t know existed.”
- Jennifer Ahrens Cawley
